A: Amazon places a lot of restrictions on third-party developers when searching their entire database in order to limit the load on their servers. One of the restrictions is that only five pages of results are returned for any search. Another restriction is that you can't sort the results. Additionally, the way developers interact with the Amazon server is different when searching their entire database instead of searching a specific category. As a result, it is difficult to use categories to "drill-down" and find a specific item. Therefore, unless you know exactly what you are looking for, we recommend searching an individual category instead of the entire database.
